Religious Education and our Catholic identity are at the heart of life at St James. Grounded in the teachings of Jesus and the values of the Gospel, we nurture each child’s faith, spirituality and understanding of what it means to live with compassion, hope and respect for others.
Faith is woven into the everyday life of our school. Students engage in Religious Education through prayer, Scripture, inquiry, reflection and rich dialogue, making meaningful connections between their faith, their lives and the world around them.
Our students experience and celebrate their faith through:
- daily prayer and Christian Meditation
- our St James School Prayer, which unites us as a faith community
- class and whole-school liturgies and Masses
- the Sacramental program
- the traditions, symbols and celebrations of the Catholic Church
- opportunities for social justice, service and outreach through initiatives such as Mini Vinnies.
Through these experiences, we encourage our students to know that their actions can make a difference and to live the Gospel through kindness, compassion, service and care for others.
